Individual Counselling

Individual counselling can give you the space and time to look at your current issues and help you decide upon the changes you may want to make for yourself. Counselling is not about giving advice or telling you what to do. As a relationship counsellor we can work together in a safe space to help you better understand what you would like to focus on and work towards. Many people often find themselves in a crisis and appreciate having the opportunity to speak with a trained counsellor to discuss their difficulties. In this space they can discover their strengths and skills that they can develop and use in their lives to overcome their problems or speak out loud concerns they may have held onto for many years. Sometimes it can be beneficial for the individual to look backwards at their childhood to see how it may be influencing their present. Consequently, recognising whether they can still hold onto these ideas and influences or whether it is time to develop new coping strategies.

It maybe you have been feeling like you would benefit from a change in your life; counselling can help clients achieve their personal goals and gain a greater insight into their lives. Your problems and difficulties are viewed from your perspective and with the help of your counsellor you can face your situation, help you voice your feelings, understand your reactions and help find a place of resolution. It is a personal opportunity to receive support and experience growth during challenging times in your life. The focus of your work will depend upon your particular circumstances.
