I am a trained family therapist and can work with the different topics family work presents. It is important when families feel they are in a crisis for all members to feel safe and comfortable to talk openly about their feelings.
Family relationships are different from those that we have with our casual friends and acquaintances. The important role for me as the family therapist is to help increase each family members ability to relate to each other, to speak more openly about their difficulties TO discover the family members strengths and vulnerabilities to help.
As your family therapist I need to enable family members who care about each other to express and explore difficult thoughts and emotions safely. This is in order to help your family begin to understand each other’s experiences and views, appreciate each other’s needs and make useful changes in their relationships and lives. My aim is to engage all family members and help the members free up their strengths and find ways to move forward.
